It's weird, very weird. You get to choose how you feel about someone, and what label you attach to those feelings. If that happened to me, I'd probably be tempted to call him a-hole.

I never felt any desire to call my step mother “Mom” and she was very good to me but I already had a mom and didn’t feel that way towards her. Do what you feel is best for you.

He shouldn't ask that. That's something you either choose or not do yourself. :/
Tell him you will call him what you feel comfortable with

Yea, I wouldn't. I told my dad when my parents got divorced don't turn up with anyone less than 10years older than me because I won't take it seriously and I'll constantly call her mum as a joke. His first Gf was about 12 years older than me so I missed out on the joke lol
Anyway no, I don't think you should seriously call him Dad unless you want to.

Call him by his full name out of spite. ☺

When he asks you to sit on his lap and call him that... well, that's a whole different story.

It's up to you. It's how you feel about it. Not anyone else. Your feelings. Your decision.
