Are you obligated to help your parents even if they were never there for you?

Lets say your dad was a drunk and your mom is a narcissist who never helped you and kicked you put when you were 19?

No matter how hard life goes I always support my parents. Because at then end after many years of loneliness. They are the one who asks me about how I am and how I am doing or daily things.
