Are you obligated to help your parents even if they were never there for you?

Lets say your dad was a drunk and your mom is a narcissist who never helped you and kicked you put when you were 19?

I wouldn't feel so, no. I mean, if your dad wanted help drying out, maybe ... maybe not, too.

THis doesnt describe my parents, but fits very closely onto at least 3 of my younger (25ish) friends & their parents :(
