Are you more afraid of your father or your mother?

Growing up I had an "equal" fear of what they would do to me for misbehaving. I feared being spanked or when I was older whipped, and I also feared disappointing them, but I could not avoid it so it seemed. :(

I used to feel that there was a difference I feared punishment not my parents but when I got older and became a mom myself and looked back, I realized the difference was small. Respect and fear are two different things I also respected them, and I can't lie and say they were overly abusive they weren't.

I learned from my parents to STOP the circle I didn't spank my child thus giving him no reason to fear but also giving him reason to respect which as a parent is all you need.

Fearing a parent is the saddest thing actually, they are the people who you should never have a reason to fear.

If you are afraid of your parents, and honestly feel you are in danger you might need to talk to someone off of SW that can help.

I'm not scared of either of them. If you're scared of your parents, something isn't right.

Moms can be brutal especially to daughters

My dad definitely hit me harder than my mum, and more often.

@Renoire: I perfectly understand, I am also more afraid of my father, even if both parents hit me, but my father hits harder.

My father left us when I was a kid, so my mother disciplined me whenever the need was. I'd have wanted to have a father to punish me, because to be spanked by mom as a teen is very embarrassing
