What is a good Father like?

What is it like to have a father who isn't a horrible man and is there for you? I really want to know because I think of most fathers as really bad, scary, and sick in the head.

Seriously, can someone please tell me??

I never had a good father but my husband is a wonderful father. Always there to give advice (but only if asked for), shows he loves his children and is an excellent role model for them. They are all grown up now but are still very close to him. I sometimes think how lucky my daughter is to have a father that really cares and will drop everything for her to help her out.
