What is a good Father like?

What is it like to have a father who isn't a horrible man and is there for you? I really want to know because I think of most fathers as really bad, scary, and sick in the head.

Seriously, can someone please tell me??

i wouldn't no myself, growing up my dad wasn't really there .. he took me and my sister out on day trips but he wasn't what you would call a father, he missed all my school plays, birthday parties, the special moments that i wanted him there but trust me sweetie, when i turned 20, we had a heart to heart and he apologised for everything, we're now quite close and what i would call a 'father!' so don't think just because he's horrible now, he won't regret it in the future! just stay strong, you're young and got your whole life ahead of you, i no it's hard but just focus on the love that is surrounding you by others. :)
