seeing my mother high on medicinal marijuana today was one of the best things i have ever seen

For the first time today in the longest time, I actually seen my mother laughing and pain free.
She has had a incredibly hard life and it has worn her down for sure and is in chronic pain, depression and a whole bunch of other things.
Seeing her try prescribed medicinal marijuana and it taking a lot of that away was pretty crazy.
makes you really wonder why the government fought tooth and nail to make it illegal (obviously money) when it can help people so much

Money, race, and power -- the stuff was historically associated with Mexican immigrants and hippies. Banning drugs was a good excuse to arrest brown people and political dissidents.

Glad your mother is feeling ok, can't imagine how that must feel. ❤️

You got in your daily virtue signal about brown people. Congratulations

@Slade
You want to know what this [war on drugs] was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying?

We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news.

Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.
