And then there were 5...

Both of my parents were "only children".

Growing up I never experienced Uncles...Aunt...cousins.

Both maternal and Paternal passed when I was very young.

My father passed August of last year.

Just my mom, my sister and I...and her daughter.

Tiny tribe.

Last week I flew to San Francisco for the birth of my sister’s second daughter.

Life gets beautifully strange when you’re mirror image twins.

We entered this world together sharing the same DNA, the same heartbeat rhythm, the same face reflected opposite ways in a mirror.

And now her daughter arrives carrying pieces of both of us.

By science she is my niece...genetically more akin to being my sister.
