I think I get more sad about back to school time than the kids do.

My sister took my youngest 3 (Iris included) BTS shopping in the city today. They just got done modeling their new clothes and school supplies lol. My oldest niece wanted to shop for herself this year because “I make more than you now, auntie” LMAO OKAY. Harsh, but trueeee. At least she isn’t moving out her first semester of college like her brother did 🥹

It’s bittersweet. I’ve tried to pack every bit of fun and experience as I could for them into these last couple months. The village took over and picked up the slack where I could not. They had good times, we made some great memories. But in a couple weeks I will go back to being alone with Iris and my caregiver for the majority of the day. I like her a lot but I dread it anyway. My dad is even going back to Florida for a while to figure out what to do with the swamp/his life.

Sigh. All good things must come to an end but I STG I’m living for fall break already.

I got myself into trouble discussing what is meant when one says, the city. To.me that is NY City, what dies it mean to you?

My mom was the same way, going against the grain & being sad when her brood went back to school.

While the kids are away, you could have a dinner party
