It's sad that I have to delete a post about the love a child brings because people are so offended by it 🙄

I'm not defending my choice to become a mom. I never said ONE WORD against people who don't want kids. I said, I get it. I said, it's people's choice.

I guess we're just animals after all.

Whatever.

I do think that having children means making a commitment to do everything within your power and ability to make the world a better place for them. Too many parents fail to do this, let alone provide even the bare minimum. Sure.

But it’s not the argument that extreme antinatalists believe it is. And so many of those people use it as a front to argue that we need to let the human race die out entirely.

@SwampFlower yes it's a big commitment and responsibility that you devote your life to selflessly... If you want to do it right anyway lol

That's why I don't blame people for not wanting kids. It's a choice that I know some people make for the wrong reasons too.

But like you said, it's not a reason to give up on the human race. I'm not cruel because I had a child. Besides, eleven years ago the planet didn't suck THIS bad. There was still hope. And I'm not letting go of that hope. I'm always the one playing with the kids and animals. If you treat kids like humans, they act like humans. Even the "bad" kids will behave if you don't act like they're dirt.

There's lots of ways to break the cycles, but treating children like squat is perpetuating the cycle.
