Birthdays and maths

Yesterday my seven year old niece was asking me how old her nana (my mother) is. I replied that she was born 12 years after VE Day (a date firmly fixed in the young ones' minds this month following school projects, commemorations, etc).

So that makes her . . . ???

Niece: "How many more times do I have to tell you? I DON'T do maths on a Saturday!"
