This is how it should be

For years we'd spend the holiday and birthday at my mother's house. It was tense and uncomfortable. My children where expected to be prefect. I had to stay outside most of the time because of my tourette's.

Today we went to Joel's grandmother house. We laughed, we ate, we drank, we smoked cigars, we listened to music. No one cared about my tics or outbursts. No one judged my daughter for having her sensory bag, or for the clothes she wore. Our boys played, got dirty and ran around.

Me and my kids were welcomed into the family as we are.
