Talking about Angelo and Chiara

I suppose I could sum it up in one statement; he is sixteen and she is twelve. In general, in Italy, the legal age of consent is set at 14 years; however, it rises to 16 years if the perpetrator holds a position of authority over the minor or lives with them, and increases up to 18 years if such individuals have acted by abusing the powers connected to their position.

The law is clear, but with all that has happened with us in the last year the waters are muddy! I am not at all sure if my daughter is even thinking about that kind of relationship but you have to be ready to think of worse case scenarios when you are the parent of girls ( I think).

Chiara knows what the dynamics of sex between a male and a female are, but I don’t know if she believes that she is ready for these things just yet, I don’t think she is myself and I have the law behind me as a bolster. I know I need to have a conversation with her and determine her situation right now.

I am not aware that Angelo is putting any pressure on her and I have a feeling he has an interest in her, but he’s not going to tell his friends that his girlfriend is twelve! I think she’s not at any risk.
