Beware of Greeks . . .
I've just returned from my 10 year old's school assembly. Her class have been doing a project on Ancient Greece and some of the children were asked to research and dress up in typical clothes from the period. My daughter was assigned the part of a Greek noblewoman, which she enthusiastically tackled with her elder sister last weekend.
What was fun while they were raiding the airing cupboard for sheets was evidently a bit more of a chore at the end of a busy school week. So my beautiful Greek lady grumpily explained the various parts of her costume to the assembly before taking questions from the audience:
"Why do you have a safety pin in the back of your dress?"
"Because my sister, who promised me she was going to make it look like a precious brooch, decided it was more fun to go out with her friend than stay at home and help me." 😭
Then,
"I'm not really a Greek lady, you know? This is just something Miss T***** said we have to do for history" 🤣
I'm currently sitting at home in Mount Olympus waiting for the Fates to deliver their judgement 😊
