We had just settled into bed last night
When our daughter bustles in and announces she has "something important" to tell us. I was just about to point out that she may be a little too big to be coming into our bed when, lo and behold, she pops up in the middle between us 😊
Then, as we both feared, she starts on a Trumpian tangent about a cat she saw earlier in the day. Followed by her plans for the following day with her friends. Followed by . . 😴😴😴
And this is the real trouble. She is now bigger than both her mums and not easy for us to lift together, especially not at 11.30pm. So my poor wife, who needs a good eight hours quality sleep before her hospital shift, spent the rest of the night in our daughter's bed.
Our girl meanwhile has a super night until she wakes up disoriented with no recollection of how she came to be in a different bed. And in her confusion manages to spill a glass of water over both of us and the bedclothes 🤦♀
Who needs a lie in on bank holiday anyway! 😅
