I yelled at my daughter

She is getting into pre-teen age.
I had financial and relationship problems filling up my head.
We didn't agree on something and I lost my patience and yelled at her.
She went in her room crying.

After 5 minutes I went after her. Sat with her in her bed. And we discussed. I explained I wasn't right to yell but I have problems and it's sometimes difficult to deal with. We discussed she wasn't right either and we had a misunderstanding.
Then we hugged it out.
She said I can always calm her down even if I caused her stress.

I am not the best dad on the world. I am just trying.

@Tumbleweed I believe I am a better parent than her mum.
But I am scared about her teenage years. It will not be this easy.

@justanotherone it's definitely not going to be easy but the best thing you can do for her is what you're doing now, being there. Trust me, a girl needs her dad, always 💕🫂

@Tumbleweed I can't avoid arguments but I always make sure we can talk it through afterwards. Hopefully this will be enough.

@justanotherone that's how you show her that you're always there for her. That's a strong foundation. I wish I had had that.

@Tumbleweed I can talk to you any time if you need . Not the same, I know. You cannot change the past.
