End of the weekend

When I picked up my daughter from her camp out/sleepover, I noticed she was more than usually grubby for a Sunday afternoon (having apparently not washed since Friday morning). On the drive back I gently suggested she might want to take a bath and wash her hair before school tomorrow. As she considers bathing to be a breach of her human rights, this went down like the proverbial lead balloon. We eventually compromised with a promise to read her book together, so I just have spent the past 40 mins sitting on the toilet seat brushing up my knowledge of teenage vampires 😅

Now that she has remembered that baths are not so dreadful after all, she has summoned my wife in for 'girls' talk' and a debrief from the weekend. As I am definitely not part of the cool crowd I have been banished to the laundry room to iron her school uniform. I know my place in this family 😊

I was the same when I was a kid. I don't remember why I hated bathing so much!

@JimboSaturn It's a phase . . I hope!

@SunshineGirl I think it's because I didn't want to stop doing what I wanted to do. Of course she will grow out of it; I do bathe everyday now :P

@JimboSaturn I'm glad to hear it! Yes, my youngster always has something more interesting than bathing to do . .
