Sunbathing

My daughter and her friend came back from school about an hour ago. Got changed into their swimsuits and went out into the garden. Although bright and sunny it's a bracing 17C with a stiff easterly wind 🥶 5 mins later they came back inside, laid down their towels in the sitting room and are carrying on sunbathing regardless 😊

17 degrees is a mild winters day where I live. Even the dog stays inside.

@KiwiBird We're made of strong stuff! It's due to reach 21C today 🥵

@SunshineGirl What is the hottest Summer temperature you've experienced?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@KiwiBird Last year I was working in the north of England and the temperature reached 36C. I remember that because South Africa were playing a one day cricket international and one of their players got heatstroke! The next day it was 18C . . we are living in crazy times. I don't mind heat by itself so long as it is not too humid . . that makes it so uncomfortable for humans.

@SunshineGirl Yes...dry heat is better than humid but a temperature swing of 18 degrees is crazy. We get swings of ten degrees regularly. The day my tomatoes cooked on the vine 48.3 degrees a record. Those extreme days we get strong NW winds from the outback. Luckily they are usually a one day event. (3 maximum)

@KiwiBird I've never heard of tomatoes being cooked on the vine! 😅

@SunshineGirl 48 degrees will do that. 🔥
