My daughter was very sweet with her younger cousins yesterday . .

She dressed up as the Easter Bunny, hid eggs for them, painted faces, played games.

Her behaviour slipped during the more grown up part of the day and after lunch I had to take her out for a walk as she was being quite rude and difficult to talk to. Regrets were voiced and a few tears shed (some of them mine) 😥

It is certainly not easy being a teenage girl at the best of times. But she reflects, comes up with her own solutions, and makes amends. This morning she took home made biscuits to my mum and sister. Apologies have been made and accepted.

My girl is one in a million 😌

I wasn't always good if I remember especially when we visited relatives and I couldn't understand why we stayed far away and I couldn't see them more so I used to ask to stay.
I hated going home again and used to silently cry in the back seat of the car until I fully understood.
Now it's not that far on the train but back then it seemed like the other side of the world.
If your daughter understands she did wrong then I think is good.
I used to get too excited when I saw everyone so maybe she is the same.

@happygoluckygal Family events are sometimes difficult for her. She throws herself into them with energy and then gets overtired and has difficulty with her emotions. She's not really naughty, just a bit over-enthusiastic at times!

That's lovely that you were so excited about seeing your relatives. I have cousins around my age and I used to be proud that I was the only one of my sisters who was allowed to stay with them in the school holidays (my older sisters were too much of a handful!) Those holidays were very special to me.
@SunshineGirl Yes I am same as you, I have great memories of visiting grandparents and even great grandparents.
I still love going but back then I thought they were so so far away and couldn't understand why lol.
I just been up to stay with my grandparents so got spoiled 😃. My gran even introduced me to her Tai Chi class as I went to keep her company.
Herbal tea at the break was actually nice but got asked to join in the class and it's harder than it looks to remember the moves.
I am invited back at least next time I go up😂

@happygoluckygal That's what grandparents are for! 😁

That's lovely that you were able to accompany your gran to her Tai Chi class. I bet she was so proud to have her granddaughter with her 🤗
