My daughter was very sweet with her younger cousins yesterday . .

She dressed up as the Easter Bunny, hid eggs for them, painted faces, played games.

Her behaviour slipped during the more grown up part of the day and after lunch I had to take her out for a walk as she was being quite rude and difficult to talk to. Regrets were voiced and a few tears shed (some of them mine) 😥

It is certainly not easy being a teenage girl at the best of times. But she reflects, comes up with her own solutions, and makes amends. This morning she took home made biscuits to my mum and sister. Apologies have been made and accepted.

My girl is one in a million 😌

Awwwwwwwww 💖💖💖 Because of my autism I am like a big kid myself so I totally understand why the grown up part of the day is difficult for her! 😥😥😥 Keeping up with adult conversations is hard for me and I adore kids a lot so please don't be too hard on her as I sympathise because of my autism making me deep down a kid at heart! 😇😇😇 Having fun is important too and her younger cousins and you and your special wife and daughter I hope soooo much had the best Easter ever! 🤗🤗🤗

@MommyLucy It's good to remember what growing up is like so we can empathise and understand our children. Big family days are often difficult for our girl. She puts so much energy into making them enjoyable for other people that she sometimes burns herself out. No one is angry at her, we just need a reset sometimes. I am very proud that she is mature enough to come up with her own solutions 🙂

@SunshineGirl I understand 100% because my autism makes me like a big kid deep down so maintaining adult conversations is something I find difficult so even if it is not the exact same thing I totally sympathise with her! 🤗🤗🤗 You are a fantastic mom! 💖💖💖
