sensory processing disorder

My daughter has sensory processing disorder.
Her issues are mostly with sound and touch.
Does anyone else have a child with this.
Looking for tips to make things easier for her.

I’m not an expert but that sounds like the show main character on A-Typical. It’s on Netflix. Isn’t that considered autism? No I don’t have kids with autism, but
I am personally so sensitive to sound that I can only listen to music when I’m completely relaxed. I never have music just playing in the background for background noise. I do not find music relaxing because I take it very seriously. And My daughter is terrified of fireworks. She does not like celebrating the 4th of July, nor throwing nor playing with fireworks.

I’m sorry for your daughters sensitivity. There are ear plugs that are sponge like. Instead of headphone…I wonder if there is medicine to dull the senses…

Sometimes being a slow processor means you are able to conceptualize and think more profoundly over time.

Life is challenging. According to the show there are support groups for that. I do not know much more than that. :-(

My heart goes out to her because I have some sensitivity issues… but Im just barely on that spectrum.

@Mindful I wear "in-ear-buds," to double as ear plugs to diminish sounds, during the day to avoid people asking questions of, "Why?"
