My tiny tornado

So Joel and I are cleaning up from dinner last night and our youngest comes in.

He says Daddy, Papa we need to talk.

We turn around and he points to the table

We're going to need drinks this is a serious talk

Ok I get 3 glasses and apple juice.
I pour the drinks he drinks his fast and say I need another. I pour him another glass

So as you know I'm about to turn 7

Yeah so what do you want to do for your party

Father we aren't here to talk about that

Oh I'm sorry son please go on

I'm going to be 7 as I said so that means I'm not a little boy any more. I'll be a man like you two

Oh you think so

Father I'm not done.

I try hard not to laugh at this little man sitting there with a serious face

I'm sorry

He goes on to say
Since I'm a man now I think my bed time should be 10 o'clock like Papa's

I should be allowed to eat what ever I want for dinner even if I only want dessert that day

And I am a man now so I no longer need to use my booster seat in the car

So these are my terms. He takes a long drink from his apple juice.

Let me talk to Joel about this

Take your time father

So Joel and I talk for a few minutes and return

Ok son,these are our terms

Absolutely not on the booster seat.
You are not big enough yet

As for dinner on Fridays you can eat your dessert at the same time as your dinner

And for bedtime you can stay up until 9 on Saturdays

But father

This is our terms or nothing kiddo
Fine but I'm not a kiddo anymore father.

He hope down and runs out side to play

30 minutes later he comes running in tears in his eyes blood running down both his knees

Daddy I fell down. I hurt my knees.

I pick him up and carry him to the bathroom and wipe away his tears and blood. I cleaned both knees put bandaids on the scraps and gave him a kiss on his forehead

Thanks Daddy and I got the biggest hug. I love you

My little man
