Dinner at the hospital

Joel's x texted with an update, our oldest boy is doing better but he's a little sad and wouldn't eat much. So after our daughter Cello lessons we went up to see him. Joel brought home sub sandwiches from work and pasta salad. I made some s'mores cookies to take as well.

He was so happy to see us. So we had a picnic dinner in his room. He ate, he smiles and laughed and it was a great dinner.

Joel and I have been talking about how we wanted to start spending one evening a week with each kid. Some people say a date night with your kid but that sounds weird to me. I thought it would help cheer him up to tell them about it

So I told them starting in June each Friday we'll take one kid out for a night of anything they want to do. The others would spend the evening with Star. I should of picked my words more carefully.

Before I could say more our oldest boy said I want to go swimming with sharks, our tiny tornado says I want to go Zip lining over the mountains and even our daughter chimes in saying she wants to go see a deep sea diving.

Not what I was expecting them to say.

Ok guys we live in Kansas City so we need to keep it local.

Oh can we go bowling our oldest asked

Can we go to see a musical our daughter asked

Yes now you're getting it.

Can we got Bungie cord jumping our tiny tornado asked

Yes.... wait, what, no

But Dad you said it has to be in Kansas City. I sure we can do that here.
