I stayed home with my son until he was 11 or 12, which is the same age I started babysitting when I was a kid. I got a job as a retail manager right across a large field from where we lived, so that if he needed me he could walk to the store and see me.
It’s hard to do both. I did both most of my marriage. I had started to resent it. I stayed home the last several years of my son’s life. It’s funny because all I had to do was cut back on spending. It costs money to go to work.
