Idk why but i think i'm afraid to get too close to my friends

Theres a bday coming up, half of me wants to get them something thoughtful. I think i know just the thing too.

The other half wants to purposefully forget their bday so things never get too deep and they don't expect much from me or rely on me for anything. Just someone that Teters along acquaintance and best friend.
