Here are some signs that someone might not be the right person for you:

Disinterest in the future
Emotional unavailability
Unwillingness to compromise
Lack of respect
Dishonesty
Different values:
Feeling unfulfilled
You're always the one apologizing
Your partner says they aren't ready for marriage
You aren't a priority

Except for the marriage one every one applies on its own.
You have to give allowance to those couples that have had several bad marriages already and are completely happy together without that document. There are also financial advantages to not having it to each of them.
