Mom ran into my ex-wife. I'm weirded out.
I went to lunch with my mom today, zero talk about my brother and sister-in-law. Most of the talk was about the song I just finished. It will be released independently in a few days.
But I guess I got a bit of a blindside with this. She told me it was completely accidental. It was back in March at some Irish-related event(my mom is Irish). Apparently, my ex approached my mom and they spoke for a while. She's remarried, which I knew, but apparently, the ex has kept tabs on us and knew plenty about our family. Hmph. For context, our divorce was final nearly 23 years ago.
My mom didn't mention what she looked like, but she has no children(that was a big reason why she left), so yeah, how did that work out for her?
I'm just...a little taken aback by this. I mean, we split up. It was nasty at one point. She wasn't nice to me. She went out of her way to be a bitch and be difficult the whole way through the proceedings. Does my mom not remember this? One simply cannot forget certain things.
I'll be speaking with mom tomorrow, I didn't want to spoil a nice time at lunch. But it was upsetting to hear about the ex, and I'm even more surprised she engaged her in conversation.
I'm wondering if my mom is maybe losing her mind.
