Am I overthinking my lawyer’s sign off?
So my lawyer initially tried to proceed with a joint petition, but my husband was not cooperative. They eventually decided to proceed with a single petition.
However, I found the lawyer’s text message to my husband a bit weird. For a lawyer delivering unpleasant news about a court hearing to an already upset and triggered husband, she sounded quite cheerful. She started the text with a “Happy Friday!” Ok that is still fine. But after sending him the hearing details for the joint petition, she ended the text with, “Have fun during the weekend! 🥳.”
It just feels weird and insensitive, given the circumstances. I know this because she sent me a copy of the communication. I wanted to say, “Could you please remove the emoji and the last part?” but I don’t want to come across as telling someone who is representing me how to do their job. Plus, I’m not sure if I’m reading too much into it. What do you think?
