Asked for a divorce

So, I have been getting into astrology lately. I got so excited about venus going retrograde that I ended up asking for divorce early. I didn't tell him the real reason. I just said I wouldn't be around a lot once I go into international business and that we should part ways. He said, "ok,"

Several days later, he made me look him in the eyes and give a religious promise to him so he won't owe us money. the agreements that he made me make was:

1. no divorce until all the children are 18
2. I can have full custody of our disabled adult children
3. I must give up all rights to alimony

He doesn't want to support us. As it is, he barely gives us food, and I know it's because of the other women in his life. I have to use some of my student refund money to support my children and enough food. I pay for all the bills using our childrens' SSI money. I am financially stressed but trying anyways.

I am hopeful for a much better future where I can be the provider he always promised to be.

Anyways, any advice is much appreciated.

He doesn't give a rats for his religion... Its a convenient distraction when he needs it... Get him in court now for support for u and your family

He wants the children to be 18 so he doesn't have to pay child support. He wants you to care for your disabled children alone so he doesn't have to. He's a piece of shit.

@SW-User No arguments here. My kids turn 17, 17, and 18 in April. I have to apply for custodianship over my son soon. My children may end up living in a group home for disabled adults. We'll see how it goes.

@SimplyMeChantou Thank you. It is rough. Currently looking forward to one day getting out of the house and working.

50/50 or based on income at time of separation which happens before divorce

Collect copies of all financial documents that he has a share in ss well as accounts that are solely his to prove his financial worth and income.

Psy slips and income tax docs

I'd laugh at his conditions.

@SW-User I didn't want to trigger him. I also didn't want a long and expensive fight in court. I don't have a lot of money yet.

@darktippedrose
I don't have a lot of money yet.

More of a reason to take him to court

Get "out of" astrology as quickly as possible.

@MarkPaul why is that?
