my day off...
and I've got my daughter with me.
(her mom dropped her off. I pulled her out of summer camp for the day, because she's been out of town because with my new work schedule, even though I may FaceTime her periodically, I won't actually get to have a day with her again until Father's Day)
I had waffles in the oven, and I was stirring eggs - "Dad, stop! you know I have to stir eggs."

went to the pool when it opened up. we were alone at first until some other kids with their mothers showed up. she easily made some new friends. as we were leaving, she looks back and shouts: "the next time I'm here, my Daddy will bring pizza." (girl, shut up and keep walking. you're acting like Paris Hilton. I was thinking that.) she only said that because I told her that I was ordering pizza for her and I for lunch.
while we were at the pool, a couple with their son came by. both of his legs were gone. he had metal prosthetics. "Daddy, his legs look different." that's when I looked over and saw what she meant. (he was stumbling to walk). "maybe he needs some help from another kid, huh?" I just smiled and said "do your thing, babe." she walked that little boy around, showing him the pool. while I babysat the other kids in the pool. as their mothers just laid on thr beach chairs, as though their kids didn't even exist. lazy bitches, pardon my French.
then we played some board games, and she beat my ass to a bloody pulp; that was until ee played Uno and I proved that Daddy has power. now, we're watching Sonic the Hedgehog 2 amd she's helping me write a book I've been working on.
