Is transgenderism a fad that's going to die down?

I've watched a lot of videos of detransitioners, and I think it's horrendous that they allow children to stunt and even mutilate their bodies because they "feel different". I'm not anti trans, and I fully support grown adults doing whatever they want with themselves. Not children though, no fucking way. Those situations need to be handled differently- without puberty blockers and god forbid surgery for fucks sake- until they are 18, 100%.

In the name of making it acceptable, I do think it's been pushed harder upon society than it's genuine prevalence might require.

I think it's often the wrong fix, and people only find that out afterwards. We need to get better at finding the correct issues, and then leave this as an option where it really is the problem.

I'm fine with trans too, but it's such a big and visible change, that people need to be as best informed as they can be before taking the step, rather than it being the fashionable PC solution of the day.

I'm not writing these thoughts well, but I hope my point comes across OK.

There's so many saying they've reversed the process these days. It's a huge chemical imbalance, mentally and physically that no one can measure until they go through it. I think kids should be ok to explore, but not make those changes until they're full developed. There's ways they can be supported

@0uijaFinger exactly! If a child can't choose to buy a beer, or a cigarette, or drive a car, how can they choose to change the body they were born into? It jsut isn't right... keep them in therapy, they can dress how they want, alter their appearance many ways without making life altering permanent physical changes that they may later regret 💚

It is a very complex part of the human experience that should not be politicised or used for others to project their uninformed opinions upon. Making an arbitrary cut-off at the age of 18 trivialises and reduces a critically important decision for a small minority of people to little more than a "life-style choice".
