I agree, and I felt that way before I had kids. Thankfully I don’t encounter that attitude often, at least where I live. But it shouldn’t be normal to hate kids and it’s nice to see it called out for what it is, a fundamentally antisocial attitude.

The only way for children to learn how to behave in public places like restaurants and movie theaters is to take them to public places like restaurants and movie theaters. It’s incumbent upon the parents to teach those lessons and correct certain behaviors, and the only way parents can do that is in those situations. The mere sight of children doesn’t mean that there’s automatically going to be feral kids ruining someone’s dinner or movie.

I think they’re being misunderstood. They don’t hate kids, they hate behavioral problems which kids often have. I’m sure a few of them genuinely do hate children, but I’d imagine most don’t.
Not gonna read it but my god yes!
With my own kid - the amount of people who assume she should be misbehaved because of her age and then congratulate me that she's a fucking pillar of society.
And then work.... we go on lots of trips, use public transport as it's free. The hate we get is horrendous.
They are babies. They are learning from all of us. Be the model they need to be the person they are not.

Reminds me of those that complain about a crying baby in a plane. Yes it's annoying but it's even more annoying you acting like the baby has a personal vendetta against you. Pop on some headphones like everyone else and stfu. I'm sure the parents are having a less fun time than you are without the extra judgement.

@HijabaDabbaDoo Yeah, store or restaurant I get when rve parents dont take the kid having a tantrum outside or what not. But planes and hospitals where that isnt a an option is like fuckkng "just deal with it. We are a society ffs and kids are a part of that."
Kids- glad I was never one!

There is a sub called regretful parents. Those people are unhinged. While not everybody will want children in life, these people take it to the next level.
