Children calling their parents by their first name is weird. The younger the children are the weirder it seems.

If either of my kids ever call me Donna I’d pack them off to a sweat shop making Apple products.

I used to have nicknames for my mom that were nothing to do with her real name, I’d call her some random name and it would stick for a while. Actual names like Sue or Lisa. Longest I went calling her one exclusively was about 2 years, and I got my siblings involved. She found it funny and never minded.

My kid calls me mummy or “bum bum” or “butty”, which she thinks are hilarious. She calls me by my real name sometimes too. But 90% of the time is mummy so whatever. I don’t mind 😂

I know a 3 year old who calls her mom by her real name, she’s super intelligent for her age and insists she has to call her mom what everybody else does 🤪
