I Come From a Broken Family

My parents never married. They broke up for good when I was three months old. My mom married my first stepdad when I was two years old. Divorced him when I was six. Married again when I was eight. They had my youngest sister when I was eleven. That douchebag stepdad abused me so I moved in with my dad at 14. I met my 11 year old sister who I was never told about when I was 15. My dad got married to my stepmom when I was 15 or 16 (who cares nobody likes her anyways). Now I just move between all of my houses a lot. But all good they're in the same town. So far so good I guess lol.

You are correct. Try to find AlAnon meetings so you can reduce the damage their addiction and lifestyle can have on your young life. There os free help for "adult children of alcoholics". Theres other kids in your position that can support each other. Google it

Yw. Trustme their crappy priorities are the result of their addiction. Whether you realize it or not their addiction has affected your formative years, your values and your emotions. Im glad to hear that you have a sister who is familiar with the program. Good luck (((hugs)))

Yeah, I know. My sister goes to them. It's not really the alcoholism or drugs that has impacted me. Just how crappy their priorities are (unrelated to the alcohol and/or drugs). But I might look into it. Thanks.

everyone's an alcoholic. My dad's a bit of a drugee but never been arrested for it and it doesn't interfere with his work..

When there is such a large group of dysfunctional adults. I usually suspect addiction. Drugs and alcohol ruin a lot more lives than those of the addict. The destruction is widespread
