Growing up we had sitter until 13, but if parents were out overnight even at 15 we had someone stay with us.
That is about the same as my kids. We had a babysitter until my oldest was 13 then she would sit with her siblings. Unless we were going to be gone overnight, then we had a neighbor stay with them.
