I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with this. Your parents just want to make sure you're safe and looked after if they go out

My parents called it companion sitting. I could take care of myself but if a real emergency happened I needed someone older around to handle it I guess.

@morrgin a lot of teens were having parties back then when their parents would leave the home for an evening out. Some of them trashed the homes.
