People have been asking me all month if I’m going to be dressing up my baby for Halloween 🙄

And I’m just like “Of course not!” Lucas is not even a years old. Even if he was, he’s not old enough to truly experience and enjoy Halloween for himself. That’s something that’s more for the parents having fun and showing off their babies rather making it so their kids can enjoy Halloween. I’m not judging other parents who do it. My sister did it with her two kids and I don’t think less of her for it. All I’m saying is I’m not doing that for mine. I want to be able to look back on memories when he’s older and dressed up for Halloween that we can both look back on together, not something he’s not going to have any memory of.

Even if I have to pick his Halloween costume for him, I want to at least get an idea of what’s interests are. If he doesn’t remember, I’ll at least be able to him “Oh, you just loved so-and-so back then and wanted to be this character for Halloween.”

You do whatever makes you happy, your baby is loved, that is the most important thing

@AbsolutelyFabulous I made a post recently about how little else I do nowadays and feel I miss out on, yet am perfectly content with caring for my son at the same time:

I’m a new mom and am learning to get by with these confusing adjustments, lol.
