Scientific study on how to soothe a crying baby
Findings published in Current Biology breaks it down into a basic formula to get a baby who's crying a lot off to sleep.
1 - Walk around holding them for five minutes without any abrupt stops or movements
2 - Sit down while holding them for another five to eight minutes before laying them down to sleep
This showed that not only did carrying stop crying, it also promoted sleep, senior author Dr Kumi Kuroda, of the Riken Center for Brain Science in Saitama, Japan said.
