I would be deeply grateful that he was my ex and I didn't have to deal with a jerk who thinks and says such intentionally hurtful nonsense.
If he says it again, nod thoughtfully and then point out, "But your child would have YOUR genes, too."

Why would I care??? They're my ex, so they don't need to remain faithful to me in the hope that I one day decide to date them again.
My ex got married a few years ago - it made no difference to me or my life going forward from here.

I'd be shocked, since he has absolutely no interest in having children.

When I was like 21 my ex called me at my new bf's house [no thanks to my roomies who gave out the #]. After we got past the OMFG WHY ARE YOU CALLING HERE, we hadnt split on bad terms so had a catch up where I learned he'd knocked up the next girl and she'd already dumped him and she hadn't even had it yet *I dodged a bullet folks* ... never talked to him again.
Yo Jimmy, I hope you're well man.

No. I would say something very complimenting. Like, I always knew good find someone more suited for your tastes. Then smile big and walk away knowing they are going to be thinking about that for a long time trying to figure out if that was a compliment or something rude related to something they said, either way you win by not being trapped by them for years and years because of having a child together and in knowing they now think you are smarter than they have you credit. 😊you're welcome.

It wouldn’t be my business anymore, either way.

no, that's a pretty stupid reason to have kids with somebody

IDGAF what she does. I might audibly laugh if she called to tell me that.

I'd be happy for them. I think it's good to be attracted to your partner.
If they were trying to say it with the intention of hurting me, then yeah, I wouldn't care haha

Nope, because she looks plain and dumb AF.
That's what I'd mutter under my breath as I walk away.

I would not be hurt at all, no reason for me to be hurt.
I'd rather be worried about my ex's mental state if she suddenly decided to have kids after all despite her having been adamant about not wanting kids for good reasons. Even more worrying if the only reasons are that their partner is exotic looking and smart.
