Thing is, there are no guarantees what you're going to end up with. You can work like crazy to get them the best education, life skills, traning, lessons, coaches, psychologists, religion experiences...spend a fortune on college, food clothes, orthodontia, hockey gear, dance lessons, drivers training and their first car. Get up early in the mornings for school, practices... stay up late reading to them, having them read to you, helping with homework, driving to games, camping on weekends, going on concert tours, feeding their friends when they come over, dealing with breakups...and chances are they are going to do their own thing and may or may not ever talk to you again after they leave home, get a job, and get married. I guess at that point you know you did it right..
