I binge watch Malcolm in the Middle while I clean
I never wanted kids, but if I'd had them, I hope they would have been boys. I was born to be a boy mom. But not one of those toxic ones who hates any other female who gets near her son (so creepy).
I raised my younger brother and nannied for several other boys and girls for years. But I always had a special connection with the boys. The girls were sweet but they didn't entertain me like the boys did.
The boys were the ones who always wanted to do the silly dances to make me laugh, wrestle each other in the floor while I acted as referee, teach me everything they knew about dinosaurs and muscle cars, and get themselves into hilarious situations that usually left me in tears from laughing. One of my little brothers broke his toe from trying to do the "Barney Dance". 🤣 My other brother would make up a funny character and tell me ridiculous stories in that character's voice. One boy I nannied would bring me flowers every day and even asked me to attend his school's "Family Picnic" 🥹. My young male cousin was great too- he was only 10 but could play guitar like a pro!!! That boy was gifted. He taught me to play a few chords.
I truly love little boys, before they grow up and become horrible hormone-driven men (I feel the same about girls - they're sweet until around age 13, then they become btchy little monsters). Don't get me wrong, boys can be a handful!! I have many horror stories too, about cleaning up after food fights, treating cuts and road rashes from a bike wreck, and dealing with general stubbornness. A lot of people seem to think girls are "easier" but I disagree. I've nannied some really stubborn, headstrong girls who will argue with you until you're both crying!! Lol
Overall, I'm glad I never had kids. But watching Malcolm in the Middle makes me laugh and get all nostalgic about the boys I raised. 💓👦🏼👦🏿👦🏻🧒🏼
