Hey SW. I need advice

Okay, my cousin and I haven't talked in like 2 years. She's currently living in the neighboring country. She stopped making an effort to start conversations online, and I did the same because I felt like I was a bother or something. I mostly talk to her little sister, even on call sometimes. Her daughter has come to visit me a number of times in the past few months, but nothing changed between my cousin and me. I didn't take it personally or whatever. I know people drift apart as they grow.

Now the issue is her boyfriend went to a country that's currently at war late last year. Now her sister just sent a text saying that her boyfriend died. Do I send my condolences or just maintain the silence?

Sending your condolences would do no harm,, it might even get you speaking again
I’d send condolences if for no other reason than I’d feel bad if I didn’t.

idk did you do anything to offend her to make her stop wanting to talk to you? have you ever asked her about it directly instead of just presuming that conversation was unwanted? are you sure she was avoiding you or just busy and preoccupied?

@GoFish I wouldn't ask anyone why they no longer talk to me. That's weird. Besides we were never that close.

Just send it . Probably wont change anything but she cant say you ignored her when she needed support. And it will stop any personal feeling of guilt you might have later
Send a brief condolence. You don’t need to resolve the distance between you or make a big gesture right now; simply acknowledging her loss is kind and doesn’t presume anything. 😊
