for me i never left where i grew up, been here my whole life 76 years
@available4 That is truly amazing

I won't re-visit it, that's for sure. I sold my mother's house to a chef and his wife, and they wrecked the lawn. I had a sprinkler system installed, and they didn't have the money to repair it...so now ALL the sprinkler heads are permanently above ground, and ALL the grass is dead.

I won't re-visit my grandfather's farm, where I spent every summer, because the a-hole who bought it tore down the big red barn and put up a corrugated tin roofed outbuilding instead, and cut down all the apple trees and the cherry trees in the front yard. THOSE things were a huge part of my good memories of the place.
I live where I grew up. It's changed lots

One place has apartment buildings where there were only two houses standing and the other one is all woods now all the houses are gone.

The entire block where I grew up was turned into a huge parking lot for a hospital and college about 20 + years ago.

I live where I grew up, and it's changed a lot, and not in a good way.
The barn is still there but the trailer is gone

I have visited almost every place I ever lived one way or another. What I haven't been able to drive by I visit on Google Earth. Nothing is recognizable. Even the last house I moved from. Looks like it was completely rebuilt. The area I went to tech school in Pennsylvania is unrecognizable, except for the apartment building I lived in. It's actually depressing.

From time to time. I spent most of my childhood in a rural area, about a mile outside a small village.

The last I heard, a huge housing estate was going to be built nearby.

Yes i remember everything 3 feet lower to the ground.
Its a totally different place when you can see over the fences.

Its really run down. Most of the same fences and buildings are there 25 years later. Old and dilapidated. Shady people. It didnt used to be that bad. Though i remember waking up in the middle of the night to see a group of people trying to steal my moms car. So maybe i was too young to understand at the time?🤷‍♂
Yes and it made me sad how much it changed
CactusJackManson · 51-55, M
I liked growing up there, but I wouldn't move back. It has changed greatly, and not for the better.
meggie · F
No, I hated it.
I do, and it looks even worse than ever. I sometimes Google what it looked like as a city in its heyday and it makes me very sad. I wish it could go back to even a fraction of that. Glad the library is still standing and in relatively good shape. 🥺

I never left. Some places barely changed, some are unrecognizable.
Yes. Much of it remains the same, but it's very busy now.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
Still here, unfortunately. And yes, it's changed a lot.
