I do believe that children generally want to learn.
The problem becomes than what to teach them then.

We can say then any variety of subjects yet that as well depends on what they already know.

We do seem to spend a lot of time attempting to teach what they already know. So they become bored.

Variety does seem to alleviate the boredom. So you can't limit the subjects just to a few things.

A number of things mentioned are just too limited for children. And are better taught within the variety. It doesn't mean they are not important.
