did they know you were waiting to eat? maybe they thought you already ate? idk did you tell them you wished they had stayed longer? what were your other plans after dinner? just for them to watch you eat? maybe you should have found another side table to add so you could have all ate together? idk i think silent resentment and sulking is not the best way to deal with this

@GoFish I mean no guest immediately leaves right after dinner right? We expected them to speak with us and among each other while we ate and even relax a little longer too. We are a very close family, and that’s how we do it since forever, it does not have to be mentioned separately. It’s the culture. Which makes the disrespect more obvious. I texted them after to tell them I was hurt. One replied the son had to sleep. My parents didn’t get back yet.

It wasn’t very nice of them
A lack of respect for BOTH of you
Give it time but I certainly wouldn’t hurry to invite them again

Wow, what a dilemma.
I have some relatives like that also.
They dont realize what they have until its gone. They ferl like they did you a favor by showing up.
Then move. You're young. Eventually they will misd you and come visit.
My wife and I did the same thing

@Neoerectus oh yeah. Family is family...but some just think they are doing you a favor just showing up ! And then they need to leave early for something else! Like REALLY ?
