My brother is telling me I am insane because I am still willing to study at the age of 35..

Bish, I been in academics most of my life.
Took a step back during my specialty training.
But compared to most people it is a large part of my life and who I am.
He received Military training only and had his MD from military education, so he doesn't get it. It is vastly different.
I am aware I am old af now. I can feel the difference while processing all this new information in an unfamiliar field. But I also know that formalizing all the progress I have made at higher levels of influence is the only way to push forward. It will provide a strong lasting ground. It is the right thing to do.
It is going to take me twice the efforts it used to.

If work didn't drain me so mentally and leave me fatigued all the time I would happily study all kinds of things. It's a joy to learn. If the US weren't such an unforgiving capitalist hellscape I'd even consider going back to school for psychology or psychiatry. I think I'd lean more towards working with people than medicating them, but if I were to take on student loan debt now I'd most certainly never be able to retire.
