He has allowed convicted paedogile Jade Hatt who was a babysitter and had s*x with an 11 year old boy walk free from his court on a suspended sentence because and I quote 'he was a mature 11 year old" Meanwhile people walking into courts and are being jailed for social media posts
This happened in 2015, apparently after the boy's father made a special plea in court for the babysitter not to receive an immediate custodial sentence. She was given a suspended jail sentence and placed on the Sexual Offenders Register for 10 years. The message that the decision might send was questioned at the time by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) but owing to the sensitivity of the case (reporting of criminal trials involving minors are necessarily restricted), discretion was shown and a general outpouring of rage and indignation did not ensue . . until now.
Given the chronology, there is clearly no logical link between this case and the conviction of Lucy Connolly in 2024 for incitement to racial hatred (when she used her prominent social media platform to urge followers to burn down hotels housing immigrants during a period of widespread rioting and violence.
