Have ever been asked to be a Godparent?

For some inexplicable reason my brother asked me to be a Godparent to his son.
1986, I was a drunk, what would I know about parenting?
I declined.

I have been asked and accepted twice. Long before I was a daddy, I was an uncle. I am the baby of five children, so I was godfather to my oldest sister’s youngest (1984), and again to my older sister’s youngest (1993). I became a father in 2001.
