My 14 y/o niece just came by

To shovel snow for me for free! She knows I hurt my back shoveling snow yesterday, so she offered.
She even declined payment when I offered her a little bit for her troubles.

What did I do to deserve this? 🥹
(I gave the payment to her mom instead, aka my sister, to help a little towards a school trip later this year)

That seems fair. Perhaps on the trip that extra money will resurface so she can pick up a fun souvenir or something. It was also great that she was willing to help out without compensation.

@joe438 I'm incredibly proud of all my nieces. This one is the oldest, and is always eager to help out whenever she can 💜💜💜

The trip is one of those WW2 trips where the class goes to Poland and Germany to see the aftermath.

@TheRealBarbossa learning about the global devastation the world wars caused is really our best hope and ensuring that nothing that awful ever happens again. Good for them, and good for the school.

@joe438 all schools in Norway started making those trips the year after I graduated. I was one year too early to get to go on one myself.

Hopefully I can go as the guardian of my 2nd oldest niece next year, but it requires a lot of money and I'd need someone to look after my cat who needs a pill and atleast one hour of company every day.
