My nieces are at their dads place these days

(their mom is my sister)

We always knew he was a horrible father, but this time I feel like doing something extreme.

He's visiting "his friend Frank" yet again... The girls (14, 13 and 11) are home alone, and he turned his effing phone off!
It's currently 10.33pm.

He's pulled the same stunt multiple times before, even during school weeks, not coming home until past midnight!

Atleast the girls know I'm always here for them, and their dad lives only a 2 min walk from me. But the principle of it doesn't change.

The youngest has night terrors where she walks in her sleep. The dad doesn't even admit to that well known fact because, and I quote him "I never noticed"
He never noticed because the oldest has been forced to get up to help her sister.
The little girl is known to leave the house during these episodes without even realizing. But it doesn't bother the dad bc he isn't the one bothered enough to actually do something about it, or even notice.

I'm so pissed off right now. If you don't hear from me again it will because I'm awaiting trial after getting my hands on this so-called father 😡

Call the police to do a "welfare check"

@NativePortlander1970 I am very tempted, but it could backfire on my sister to the point where she doesn't get custody.

Atleast I live very close to theor dads house so thwy can come to me if they feel unsage or something happens.

I made sure to let them know they're always welcome regardless.
@TheRealBarbossa Call your sister and let her know, so she can get there when the police arrive.
@TheRealBarbossa If it is a scheduled visit your sister will not be liable

@NativePortlander1970 She's the one that made me aware of tonights situation.
She's with her current boyfriend across the fjord these days. It would take her 2h to get here. More if she has to wait for the ferry.

Backstory: her boyfriend is being checked out for leukemia these days. If he has it it's a death sentence because chemo almost killed him once before (he did chemo to ease his arthiritis, but instead it almost killed him and it made his arthiritis even worse)

As mentioned before: my nieces know they can come to my place whenever. I don't care if they wake me up in the middle of the night or whatever. My first priority is making sure they feel safe and loved, and they know it.

It's an extremely infuriating and frustrating situation, but for now our hands are tied, sadly. (Long story)

@NativePortlander1970 Not sure what the law says here in Norway, but I appreciate the support.

I will contact an attourney next week to get their opinion of it all.
